Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation Executive Director Richard Thal welcomes media and VIPs to a much-delayed groundbreaking ceremony for the Francis Grady Apartments, formerly known as Walnut Avenue Apartments, at 459-461 Walnut Ave. The project, currently under construction, is expected to be ready for residents early next year, will offer 30 studio apartments for medically frail formerly homeless individuals as well as 20 beds in a medical respite facility for people too sick to be on the streets but too well to be admitted to hospital.
