Renovation planned for South St. building

Croan McCormack has plans to renovate 108-110 South St. into a four-unit residential building, while retaining the two commercial spaces out front, according to spokesperson John Moran of Alpine Services.

The proposed project is slated to go before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council’s Zoning Committee June 3, after the Gazette deadline.

Moran said the units will be rentals and that the barber shop currently operating out front will remain open during construction. The owner of the property will live in one of the units, while also using the other commercial space, which is currently vacant, according to Moran.

He said if the zoning process is successful, construction would take 14 to 16 months to complete.
