The City’s Zoning Board of Appeals recently gave the OK to two construction projects—one at 40 Lochstead Road and another at 46 Eliot St.
The applicants had asked for the ZBA hearing to be deferred. The City’s neighborhood liaison Jullieanne Doherty supported the applicants’ desire for deferment. Neither project went through the normal community process, which allows residents and neighborhood leaders to learn about the projects and offer their two cents.
But yet, the ZBA in its infinite wisdom granted the variances for the projects, stopping any further review. The move makes the ZBA appear to be a joke of an institution.
