We are pleased that the BRA has asked the developer for the 64 Allandale St. project to consider creating a buffer zone between the development and the Allandale Woods. We hope that that actually happens.
Allandale Woods is a gem that need not be tarnished. Any potential threat to the woods should be treated with extreme caution. A development with 20 units, including several newly built townhouses, would seem to fit such a category.
We are not suggesting that no development be built, but that the concerns raised are addressed. If the townhouses are built in clusters along Allandale Street, while having a buffer zone between the development and Allandale Woods, that would appear to be a wise route to travel.
