There is welcome news coming from the Council President’s Office.
At-Large City Councilor Michelle Wu, who was recently voted president, says she will be bringing more transparency to the Council.
One of the ways she plans to do that is through improving the Council website, allowing residents easier access to information on hearings and what the Council is actually doing.
Wu also plans to have councilors hold committee meetings more often out in the neighborhoods, which will help residents connect with local government and have their issues heard.
We welcome Wu’s efforts, especially that of improving the Council website, which is a disaster.
