With the renovated Jamaica Plain Branch Library slated to reopen sometime in mid to late May, the library’s “friends” group will host a fundraiser on May 5.
Gretchen Grozier, co-chair of the Friends of the JP Branch Library, said in a phone interview that the fundraiser will help support new programs in the renovated library. She said they hope to raise about $20,000 and that anything “more than that would be great.”
Tickets for the event, which will take place at the library, start at $100 and attendees will get an early look at the renovated building before it officially opens. Grozier said the event will have appetizers and a performance by the local orchestra A Far Cry.
“I’m so excited,” Grozier said about the soon-to-be-open library. “It’s been a long and arduous process.”
