SLOW STREETS COME TO JP

Mayor Martin Walsh, local elected officials, and residents gathered in Stonybrook on Nov. 1 to celebrate the implementation of the Neighborhood Slow Streets program. The Slow Streets program is part of the City’s Vision Zero project, which is a commitment of resources to eliminating fatal and serious traffic crashes by 2030. The effort is being led by BTD in collaboration with other City departments, including Public Works, the Boston Police Department, and Emergency Medical Services. The Slow Streets program includes speed humps and “Welcome mats,” which will state the speed limit on the street, among other changes. For more information, visit visionzeroboston.org.
