DES LINDEN DAY

The 2018 Boston Marathon winner Des Linden appeared before the Boston City Council to receive a resolution proclaiming June 20, 2018 as “Des Linden Day” in the City of Boston. Two time Olympian and six time Boston Marathon competitor, Linden has returned to Boston to receive City Councilor Matt O’Malley’s proclamation and participate in the Boston Athletic Association’s (B.A.A.) 10K race on Sunday. “I am thrilled to have honored Des Linden at the Boston City Council yesterday for her outstanding achievement,” said Councilor O’Malley, who sponsored the initiative and has participated in the Boston Marathon seven times, according to a press release. “Des not only demonstrated excellence in her ability in the sport, but also compassionate character and sportsmanship. Because of this, she is our honorary Bostonian.”
