ARTISTS AT WORK

Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts 2018 Artist, Nora Valdez, and Teen Intern, Amaya Willis, paint the installation, “Home/Hogar.” Nora, a Boston-based, Argentine sculptor has spent the month working with a group of interns from Teen Bridge, the Eliot School’s rigorous arts program, working on a large collaborative art sculpture that centers on the notion of home. It will be unveiled at an event on Aug. 25 at 2pm at the Eliot School Annex at 253 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain. This sculpture will continue to evolve throughout the fall with visitors to Jamaica Plain Open Studios invited to add their own thoughts and creativity as the sculpture is displayed in the yard of the Eliot School on Sept. 22 & 23. Lastly, from Oct. 31- Dec. 2, components of the sculpture will be exhibited at Galatea Fine Art Gallery, with the opening reception on Nov. 2 and an artist talk on Nov. 4.
