Barry W. Morlock of West Bridgewater died Sept. 16 in his home at the age of 74. Barry was born in Jamaica Plain, the youngest son of the late Florence E. (Harding) and Fred J. Morlock. He was raised in his family’s apartment building and commercial property at the corner of Centre and Paul Gore streets in Jamaica Plain (416 Centre Street), along with his siblings and cousins. Barry was a Vietnam Marine Veteran and worked many years as a diesel mechanic.
He was the husband of Catherine M. Morlock of Springfield (formerly of Roslindale), and the father of Jillian R. Morlock of Worcester and Sean M. Morlock of West Bridgewater. His older sister Loretta Bailey lives in Tennessee, and he is pre-deceased by his sister Lee MacDonald of Wareham and his older brother Fred Morlock of Boston. Barry was the proud grandfather of a new granddaughter, Willow Morlock of West Bridgewater. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Graveside Service for Barry will be held with Marine honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.; followed by a memorial gathering at 303 Harvard Court, Whitman, MA.
