JP Restaurants to raise money for immigrants’ rights during midterms election week

Diners in Jamaica Plain have a chance to donate to a great cause while enjoying meals at six fabulous local restaurants during Dining for a Difference Week, Nov. 4-9. The fundraiser will support national immigrant rights group Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), which in recent months has been working tirelessly on behalf of migrant children separated from their parents.

During Dining for a Difference Week , the restaurants Tres Gatos, The Haven, Casa Verde, The Frogmore, Vee Vee and Little Dipper each will donate a portion of proceeds from a night of business.

The event is the fifth organized by Boston For All, a grassroots group of local parents inspired by the 2016 election to raise money for civil liberties and civil rights organizations. Thus far, Boston for All has raised more than $25,000 through fun, family-friendly events.

When and Where:

Donations will be contributed by the restaurants on the following nights:

  • Sunday, November 4 – Tres Gatos
  • Monday, November 5 – The Haven
  • Tuesday, November 6 – Casa Verde *Election Result View Party
  • Wednesday, November 7 – The Frogmore
  • Thursday, March 8 – Vee Vee
  • Friday, November 9 – Little Dipper

Boston For All focuses on creating fun, accessible events to raise money for organizations working on behalf of those who are most vulnerable in our current political environment. The group is run by parents committed to fighting fear with art, energy and love, working for inclusion in our community and our nation, and raising money for great causes.

“It is our mission to make giving fun and simple,” Fischer said. “Just show up, enjoy some great times with others in your community, and open yourself up to possibility and inspiration.”

All money raised by Boston for All during the Dining for a Difference midterms election week events will go directly to KIND.
