The parish family of Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church in Jamaica Plain, proudly announces the Gala Celebration of the Founding of “The Oldest Maronite Parish in North America.”  We cordially invite all parishioners and friends to join us on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 11am for a Pontifical Divine Liturgy of Thanksgiving. Bishop Gregory Mansour, bishop of the Eparchy of St. Maron of Brooklyn will officiate. The Bostonians present their annual “Christmas Concert for the Community” at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 in St. John’s Church, Jamaica Plain (Boston), Massachusetts. The program features some of the area’s finest singers performing a program of beautiful and beloved music for Christmas from around the world plus an audience sing-along of favorite songs and carols. Wandering the Land of Oblivion, an exhibition of recent works on paper by Paris-based artist Contanza Aguirre (Bogota, Colombia, 1960), will be on view at Urbano, November 9, 2018–January 11, 2019; with an opening celebration on Thursday, November 15 from 6-8PM with the artist.  Aguirre’s exhibition is part of Urbano’s curatorial series exploring the theme of Resilience and Sustainability.

SongBeat Circle hosts another season of improvisational singing and drumming together for wellness, stress relief, and community.  It is held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. (except for January 8, 2019) in the Parish Hall at First Church in Jamaica Plain. Oral History Listening Booth at the JP Branch See a 1930’s era wooden phone booth, transformed into a portal for exploring Boston’s history as shared by a diverse group, ages 60 and older, from JP and other Boston neighborhoods.
