State Police Proud to Partner with Boston English, Sean Collier Fund, to Help Young People, Increase Awareness of MSP

The Massachusetts State Police are proud to announce a partnership with the Sean A. Collier Memorial Fund and Boston English High School’s Vocational Program with the goal of allowing young people to learn about the State Police and possible careers with the agency.

The Department is working with Boston English’s Legal and Protective Services program, which provides students a course of study in law and criminal justice and prepares them to pursue careers public safety or the legal profession. The Department also participates every year in the Boston Strong Invitational Basketball Tournament to support the Collier Fund, named in memory of slain MIT Officer Sean Collier.

Through the new partnership, MSP Lt. Anthony Dear recently met with three students from the Boston English program who will attend the Massachusetts State Police Student Trooper Academy later this month at the State Police Academy in New Braintree. Lt. Dear presented the students with physical training gear and other items that the students will need at the week-long academy, purchased with funds raised from the Boston Strong basketball tourney.

We will continue to follow these three exceptional young people, and the other Student Troopers from all over the state, when they begin their weeklong adventure on July 15.
