Spontaneous Celebrations to Host annual JP Holiday Market

Local non-profit Spontaneous Celebrations is set to transform its Danforth Street headquarters into a bustling hub of commerce and community this month with the return of the JP Holiday Market.

Scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, the market will run from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days.

Organizers have curated a lineup of over 40 local vendors, offering residents a chance to bypass big-box retailers in favor of local artists, small businesses, and non-profits. The event aims to highlight the creative talent within Jamaica Plain while offering a festive atmosphere complete with warm drinks and seasonal celebrations.

Shoppers can expect a diverse array of goods suitable for holiday gift-giving. According to the event listing, the inventory will range from traditional handmade items to unique artisan crafts. Highlighted items include jewelry, handmade knits, pottery, and holiday cards, alongside more specialized goods such as terrariums, crystals, and kilim rugs.

For those looking for consumables and self-care items, vendors will also be selling local honey, jams, handmade soaps, and body care products. The market also promises vintage clothing, handblown glasswork, prints, and books.

The event is open to the public and located at 45 Danforth St, Jamaica Plain, just steps from the Stony Brook station on the Orange Line.
