Hyde/Jackson Main Street missing annual report

Hyde/Jackson Square Main Street (HJSMS) is six months late in filing a mandatory annual report with the state Attorney General’s Office.

The annual report is required of all nonprofits and includes details of that organization’s assets and officers.

“We know we’re required to file [the report] and we will,” HJSMS President of the Board Jason LaGorga said. He had no comment about when the report would be filed.

HJSMS is usually expected to file the report with the Attorney General’s Office by November. Previous filings are available at charities.ago.state.ma.us.

HJSMS has just hired a new interim executive director, Katie Reed, nearly a year after its last executive director resigned amid allegations of $20,000 in missing funds. That case is still under investigation.

The 18 main streets organizations in the city—including HJSMS, JP Centre/South Main Streets and Egleston Square Main Street in JP—are nonprofits partially funded by the city. They aim to better commercial districts through events and improvement projects.
