Of all the reasons to support Hillary Clinton, state Rep. Jeffrey Sánchez’s assertion that, “We need someone who can unite and bring people together, and Hillary Clinton is the one to do it,” is the most ridiculous one I can imagine.
The only people Hillary unites are members of the Republican party and independent voters capable of supporting a Democrat. Barack Obama has demonstrated that he alone can attract independents and some Republicans and encourage new voters to get involved. He is capable of building a new Democratic majority like Ronald Reagan did for the Republicans 30 years ago. Hillary Clinton will continue to divide the country, and after what we have experienced the last eight years, that is the last thing we need at this moment in our history.
