Odd maps that led to a confusing definition of Jamaica Plain on the city’s “My Neighborhood” web site are being updated, according to a spokesperson for the Mayor’s Office.
As the Gazette revealed earlier this month, the site (www.cityofboston.gov/myneighborhood), which tells residents what neighborhood they live in, mingled JP and Mission Hill along a contorted boundary. Among other oddities, it placed Daisy Field in Mission Hill and Fisher Avenue in JP.
The information is based on city Assessing Department maps, according to Mayor’s Office spokesperson Jennifer Mehigan. She said the maps weren’t updated over time, adding that with a recent web site overhaul, “that issue has been brought up, and those maps are being upgraded.”
