Hyde Square’s Food Wall restaurant is among the Chinese eateries highlighted in “Planet Takeout,” a new WGBH 89.7 Radio program debuting Oct. 1.

The program documents the role that Chinese takeout restaurants play in neighborhood life, immigration and other aspects of culture. It is an unusual participatory documentary that allows anyone to share their takeout experiences through a website, social media and a call-in line.

Among the early highlights is the “symbiotic relationship” between Food Wall at 387 Centre St. and the Brendan Behan Pub across the street, according to a press release. The pub doesn’t serve food, but allows take-in, making Food Wall dinners a popular carry-in.
