HYDE SQ.—An unidentified victim was shot in the leg on the afternoon of Oct. 15 near the Pimentel Market at 340 Centre St. The victim survived and was hospitalized, according to the Boston Police Department.

A Roxbury man arrested on gun charges that night in Mozart Park was friends with the victim, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office alleges, expressing concerns about a potential violent feud on the streets.

Emmanuel Pena, 18, was arrested after police officers approached six people in the park around 8:20 p.m. The officers alleged saw him toss a loaded .38-caliber revolver over a fence into a yard on Preising Street.

Pena faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm, according to the DA’s Office.
