Unlike other state-run ice skating rinks, Kelly Rink at 1 Marbury Terrace has not yet opened. All other Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) rinks opened the day before Thanksgiving.
Because it is an outdoor rink and therefore impacted by the weather, DCR spokesperson Bill Hickey told the Gazette, it is more likely that Kelly Rink will open in mid-December.
“We don’t have a fixed date as of yet, because its opening is weather-dependant,” he said.
