The Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch Library have helped get a set of interactive lights installed in the front windows of the JP Branch Library. Anyone with a Twitter account can tweet to them and change their colors, simply by including the color (or colors) they want in their tweet followed by the hashtag #jplibrarylights. (If you have privacy settings on your Twitter account set to ‘Protect Your Tweets’ the lights won’t get the message).
The Friends group enlisted the help of the Mayor’s Office New Urban Mechanics (who did a similar project in City Hall last year) for the technical work and also the Office of Arts & Culture helped to do the actual installation.
