BOSTON JEWISH COMMUNITY CHORUS TO PERFORM JUNE 9

Koleinu, Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus, presents the world premiere of A Funkl Gleybik (A Spark of Belief), by Osnat Netzer, on Thursday, June 9, 7:30 pm at Temple Shalom, 175 Temple Street, West Newton.  This concert, its first in over two years, is a celebration of Koleinu’s 20th anniversary and will feature special guests Hankus Netsky, music scholar and founder of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, and the internationally renowned Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band. Carol Marton, Koleinu’s Artistic Director, describes the newly written piece as “a beautiful evocation of nature and time based on the Yiddish poetry of Rosa Nevadovska, Malka Tussman and Anna Margolin.”

The commissioned music and guest artists are funded in part by a Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston Arts and Culture Community Impact grant. For more info on the concert or to purchase tickets, visit www.koleinu.org
