Anti-war activist and founder of Gold Star Families for Peace, Cindy Sheehan, answers a question from the audience during a vigil at the Central Congregational Church the day before a peace and justice festival downtown last Saturday. Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq April 4, 2004, vowed to not pay her taxes in protest and encouraged others to do the same. Also speaking were (from left) Green-Rainbow Party former gubernatorial candidate Grace Ross; anti-war activist Melida Arredondo, whose stepson Alex Arredondo, from JP, was killed in Iraq three years ago; and City Councilor Felix Arroyo, who spearheaded an effort to have the Boston City Council denounce the war.
