HYDE SQ.—The new Scottish pub that was announced earlier this year for 2 Perkins St. looks likely to open soon—under the new name of the Haven.

The pub, in the former Zon’s restaurant space, is undergoing its final round of inspections, manager Jason Waddleton told the Gazette.

It is also undergoing a name change from the previously announced Wee Angel. Waddleton said he has decided that the Haven is “more of a pub name.”

The name partly alludes to Stonehaven, Scotland, where Waddleton once lived. The name also reflects the normal meaning of “haven” as a “place where you find sanctuary and a bit of comfort,” he said.

The pub is slated to have drink and food. And yes, “We are serving haggis,” Waddleton confirmed. Haggis is a traditional Scottish pudding dish.
