MONUMENT SQ.—Work on Curtis Hall is progressing on schedule, according to Boston Centers for Youth and Families spokesperson Sandy Holden.
The scope of work going on at the municipal building at 20 South St. includes: a new roof, interior lights, painting, masonry, HVAC work, new boilers and controls, electrical and plumbing upgrades and new telecom/data equipment and furnishings. The project is budgeted at $4 million and is expected to take a year to be completed, Holden said.
Curtis Hall Community Center is expected to reopen this coming October. “Of course, there is always a chance for delays, but I will be working with the Jamaica Plain Community Centers (JPCC) board on a reopening event, and we will be sure to give the community lots of notice,” Holden added.
