More concrete removed from Forest Hills Station

Loose concrete has been removed from the ceiling at the commuter rail platform at the Forest Hills Station, according to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo. That comes on the heels of concrete falling from the ceiling on Jan. 29. No one was injured in either incident.

Pesaturo said that an Amtrak maintenance crew removed the concrete last week, although it is MBTA-owned property.

“The area is safe,” he said. “Personnel will inspect it regularly, while engineers develop a corrective action plan.”

Pesaturo said no cause of the concrete falling has been determined. He said inspections of the Forest Hills Station are conducted regularly.
