VA hospital temporarily closed

The Jamaica Plain campus of VA Boston Hospital was closed over Valentines Day weekend after frigid temperatures made pipes burst, causing major water damage, according to a press release.

Access to the facility was restricted as staff and contractors worked to recover the hospital and bring it back to full use. Employees of that facility worked out of other VA Boston facilities to accommodate appointments.

According to Pallas Wahl, public affairs officer of VA Boston Healthcare System, the facility was reopened for certain services on Feb. 22 and slowly would be opening sections throughout the week. Wahl was not sure when the hospital would be completely reopened.

The 14-floor ambulatory care center at 150 S. Huntington Ave. serves as a resource for veteran outpatient care.
