Plant Sale and Flea Market

Gardeners looking to kick off the spring season should head to Adams Park on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Roslindale Village Main Street Plant Sale will offer seedlings and starters from local farms, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Simultaneously, a community Flea Market will provide a space for neighbors to sell second-hand treasures in a setting similar to a neighborhood-wide yard sale.

Bloom for Mother’s Day

Families looking for a special way to celebrate Mother’s Day can visit Le Petit Space for the “Bloom with Mom” event on Saturday, May 9. The workshop runs for two hours and offers a creative space for moms and children to bond over floral activities and craft unique gifts. There will be two timeslots to sign up for, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 – 4 p.m. Register online at roslindale.net/events

Noche Electrica Dance Night

The Substation will transform into a vibrant dance floor on Thursday, May 14, for “Noche Electrica.” The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a beginner-friendly Latin dance lesson, followed by a social dance session featuring an eclectic mix of Latin music to take guests through the evening. Admission for the monthly event is $5.

Film Society Screening

The Roslindale Film Society will host a screening of “Minority Report” on Thursday, May 14, at the Square Root Cafe as part of its Showcase Series. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the film starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door; beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase.

Queer Comedy Night at Rozzie Square Theater

      The Rozzie Square Theater hosts its monthly “Queer Comedy Night + Caboodle” on Friday, May 15, at 18 Corinth St. in Roslindale. Hosted by Nora Panahi, Boston’s Favorite Queer Comedian 2025, the event features four local comics in an inclusive, high-energy showcase.

      The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with the “caboodle,” a pre-show social hour for mingling and snacks, followed by the comedy performance from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Birdies & Brews Block Party

Looking ahead to June, Distraction Brewing Co. will host a “Birdies & Brews” Block Party on Saturday, June 6. Starting at 2 p.m., the event will feature local brews and community festivities to kick off the summer season.
