Treat Your Pup to ‘Cow Paws’ at J.P. Licks

When you grab your summer ice cream, don’t leave your dog out of the fun. Local institution J.P. Licks caters directly to the neighborhood’s canine demographic with “Cow Paws,” a dairy-free frozen treat formulated specifically for dogs. Retailing for $5.20, this lightly flavored peanut butter and honey sorbet comes served with a kosher dog bone embedded inside.

Founded by Vincent Petryk, J.P. Licks has fully embraced its four-legged fan base, frequently taking Cow Paws on the road for special catering events. During a recent “Block Pawty” at Legacy Place, staff handed out treats from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., delighting in watching dogs eagerly devour the sorbet right on the pavement. Some pups ate so quickly they gave themselves a comical canine brain freeze. The popular dog-friendly dessert even garnered national attention, earning a feature on Good Morning America in July 2024.
