A woman was attacked by an unknown man at Jamaica Pond early on Jan. 16 while walking her dog, according to the Boston Police Department.
The woman reported that she was walking around the pond at 5 a.m. when the suspect passed her and said, “Hello.” The suspect then grabbed her from behind, causing them both to fall down. The suspect fled when the victim screamed and turned on a flashlight.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, wearing dark clothing.
The local E-13 Police Station has increased patrols around Jamaica Pond Park and is advising the public to be vigilant.
All Boston parks are closed to the public from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., except for people passing through on other business on marked paths, according to Boston Parks and Recreation Commission regulations.
