Homeowners who didn’t shovel had already gotten tickets when ice from weeks before still covered some local crosswalks like those at the Hennigan School until about a week ago. Who deserves a ticket for not clearing city property? Can the city ticket itself?
When it’s extremely cold, as it was recently, it takes a long time for “ice rinks” from storms to melt. I have seen contractors use a machine that melts street tar. Maybe that would work. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
