New paving means speeding on South Street

Now that South Street has been repaved from Forest Hills to the Monument area, the threat of sliding out of control on the old rails is gone. However, a new problem presents itself: speeding. With no lights from the intersection at Forest Hills to McBride Street, I’ve witnessed from my balcony cars flying down the new asphalt, particularly in the evening when there is little to no traffic. In a neighborhood full of pedestrians, children and dogs, this is an accident waiting to happen. I’m asking people to slow down and enjoy the bump-free ride!
