A Pondside apartment was hit with an armed home invasion, and a man was shot on Walnut Park, in two separate gun crimes last week, according to the Boston Police Department (BPD).

In the Aug. 20 home invasion, a man rang the doorbell at 22 Dunster Road around 11 a.m., then pulled a handgun and forced three residents to get into the bathtub while he stole about $1,000 from a cardboard box in the apartment, according to BPD. The suspect is described as a heavy-set black man, about 6-feet-2-inches tall, wearing jeans and a blue hat.

The Aug. 21 shooting around 50 Walnut Park left a man hospitalized with a chest wound. The BPD’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection system reported six gunshots around that time. Officers responding to the area pulled over a speeding car and found the victim in the back seat. The driver had been trying to get the victim to a hospital. Officers called for an ambulance.

Witnesses reported seeing a black Acura driving away from the scene of the shooting down Walnut Park toward Washington Street. Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
