The following Jamaica Plain individuals, businesses and organizations have received recognition.

The American Cancer Society’s annual Key Gala raised more than $340,000 to benefit the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center.

Karaugh L. Brown, Peter Georges-Clapp, Lauren Majchrzak, Nicole A. Tiano, Joseph M. Novotny, Karen D. Sullivan, Jill L. Passano, Anthony M. Marino, Kathe E. Strunk, Edward T. Chambers and Emily A. Blood all received their degrees from Boston University.

Joseph Cohen, M.D., was recently honored for his retirement after nearly half a century at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital at a dinner to benefit Shattuck Partners, Inc.

Hatuey Baez recently graduated from Jewish Vocational Service’s Adult Diploma Program.

Alexis Breiteneicher, Joel Kamm, Jennifer LaFrance, Genevieve Mack and Roxana Moayer will all be running in the Boston Marathon to raise funds for cancer research as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team.

Maureen Banks has joined the staff of NVNA and Hospice as Hospice Clinical Director.

Ilan Y. Benador, Elizabeth S. Glenn, Kevin J. Joyce and Jacob R. Leidolf have all been named to the Dean’s List at Boston University for the Fall semester.

Cecelia Hanifin, Cassandra Vickers, Elizabeth Greene and Sara Taylor received Gold Distinction at Newton Country Day School. In addition, Bianca Vitale, Clare Fisher, Sarah Greene, Gabriella Vitale, Grace Fisher and Victoria Iannella earned Silver Distinction. Gabriella Vitale also received a Sacred Heart Goal IV Award, and Sara Taylor and Grace Fisher starred in the Middle School production of Iolanthe.

Ryan T. Hanifin was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Gregory Loukas and Joseph Sullivan achieved academic honors at Belmont Hill School.
