EGLESTON SQ.—Just six of the 15 candidates who turned in signatures to secure slots on the Feb. 15 preliminary Special Election to replace ousted District 7 City Councillor Chuck Turner appear likely to make the ballot, according to city election officials.

District 7 mostly covers Roxbury, but includes part of Egleston Square in JP.

Natalie Carithers, Althea Garrison, Tito Jackson, Cornell Mills, Roy Owens and Danielle Renee Williams each had at least 191 required signatures validated by the Boston Election Department. The final day for challenges to their candidacies was Jan. 19.

The six now have less than a month to get the word out and rally supporters. The top two vote-getters in the Feb 15 election will face off in a final Special Election March 15.
