CENTRAL JP—Eye Q Optical moved into a new storefront at 615 Centre St. last week, and is keeping its former Pond Street location as a discount shop.
“Our loyal fans can still expect the same award-winning service and unique collection of eyewear, just in a bigger and sunnier spot,” said co-owner Paul Fox.
Eye Q offers glasses, contact lenses and eye exams. The shop also designs many of its own fashionable eyeglass frames, “sans logos or any other nonsense on the temples,” Fox said.
The bigger Centre Street space, which will be open seven days a week, is part of Eye Q’s ongoing expansion, including a recently opened South End location. Eye Q also has a Cambridge shop.
Eye Q’s longtime former home at 7 Pond St. remains open as an “outlet” store offering older eyeglass designs at a discount, Fox said. It is now open on Saturdays and Sundays.
