(Gazette Photo by Rishi Sidhu) JP resident Jude Hutchinson, the newly elected president of the Boston League of Women Voters, at the non-partisan voter education and policy advocacy organization’s 92nd annual meeting on June 20 at First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. “Support women candidates, and I add, write a check,” Hutchinson said in her acceptance speech. She also defended the League’s recent ads criticizing the environmental record of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown. Boston Herald columnist and WTKK-FM talk show host Margery Eagen was the guest speaker, discussing the tensions between new and traditional media in covering politics. Other JP residents elected to League positions include Kerry Costello as vice president and Jane Bowers, Marcia Burley, Jeffrey Herman and Rosemary Jones as directors.
