On July 31, vintage clothing store Dame, at 68 South St., will close its Jamaica Plain doors.
While the storefront is going away, Dame will return to open-air markets and other venues, owner Dany Pearson said on the store’s blog.
“The current economic climate just has not been friendly enough to us to maintain the shop year round,” Pearson said. “You will still see us at special events, online and at other collaborative projects around town.”
“The store will tell me what it wants to become,” she told the Gazette.
Dame has been a South Street fixture since January 2009. The store’s inventory can be seen at jpdame.com.
