Rail work to wrap up

Track replacement work on the shared commuter rail and Amtrak line on the Southwest Corridor through Jamaica Plain is expected to wrap up on Sept. 12, according to the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company (MBCR).

Normal schedules are expected to resume that day, including on the Needham commuter rail line, which stops at the Forest Hills T Station. The Providence/Stoughton line will have a new, modified schedule. See mbta.com for details.

The work, which began in June, replaced decaying concrete railroad ties that Amtrak and the MBTA allege were faulty.
