2 new Chinese eateries for JP

Two new Chinese restaurants have come to the Washington Street corridor—both replacing other Chinese restaurants.

JP Kitchen Chinese Restaurant aimed to open this week at 3510 Washington St. across from English High School, according to co-manager Cai Gao. Gao and co-manager Lisa Pan previously operated the Talk and Wok Café in Hyde Park and were known for their tofu dishes, General Gao’s chicken and pad thai, Gao said.

“With combined experience of more than 30 years, we are pleased to bring our expertise to Jamaica Plain and serve up tasty and fresh Asian food,” Gao said.

JP Kitchen replaces the former Joy Rice China Café in the Washington Street spot, and has no connection with it. JP Kitchen will offer eat-in, take-out and delivery. For more information, call 617-524-6888 or see jpkitchen.com.

Farther down the street at 3704 Washington, the Oriental House Chinese Restaurant replaced the longtime East Ocean restaurant across from the Forest Hills T Station earlier this summer. It is unclear whether that is just a new name or new ownership. The Gazette was unable to locate a manager for comment.

Oriental House also advertises delivery service and can be reached at 617-983-1388.
