Luis F. Cruz, 43, of Nashua, N.H. and former resident of Jamaica Plain, Mass., died suddenly on Sun., Aug. 26, 2012 at his home.
Born June 21, 1969 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, son of Jose Lauro Cruz of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ligia Garcia, of Randolph, Mass., and husband of Enid (Rodriguez) Cruz, of Nashua, N.H.
He graduated from the Mary E. Curley Middle School in Jamaica Plain and English High School in Boston and attended New Hampshire Community College, where he received an associate’s degree in human resources.
At one time, Mr. Cruz worked as a counselor for the City of Nashua. His favorite pastime was fixing things around the home, as well as repairing bicycles for his nephews. Luis was a very loving and giving person who enjoyed helping people, especially children, and was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if necessary.
Besides his wife and parents, Luis is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Erick Cruz and his wife Jeannette (Jeannie) of Boston and Edgar Cruz of Nashua, N.H.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Ingrid Cruz of Nashua, N.H., Jenny Aviles and her husband Samuel of Randolph, Mass, and Amaris Cruz, of Salt Lake City, Utah; four nieces and three nephews, Stefanie (Stefie) Alicea, Ricardo (Rico) Alicea (his godson), Shallice Cruz, Yovani Cruz, Damie Cruz, Alexis Cruz and Catalina Aviles; two granddaughters, Amaya and Yerilin Morales; and his three dogs, which he considered his “children,” Roli, Chiqui and Miracle. A special thanks to his aunt, Elsa Garcia (Tia Betty) for everything she has done throughout Luis’ life.
Please join the Cruz family in a Memorial Mass to be held at St. Thomas Aquinas, 97 South St., in Jamaica Plain on Sept. 15, 2012 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to say a final farewell to our beloved Luis.
