FOREST HILLS—Eugene O’Neill’s Irish pub opened Sept. 17 after over a year of work.
The pub and restaurant at 3700 Washington St. does not yet have set hours. It starts serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. and may stop serving anywhere from 9 to 11 p.m. until the hours are finalized.
“Last night was wonderful,” manager and bartender Carlei DiMarzo told the Gazette Sept. 18. “A lot of people have been waiting for us to open for a long time.”
The former barbershop space across from the MBTA Forest Hills Station had been vacant for over a decade.
Owner John Jacobs was not immediately available for comment.
Eugene O’Neill’s is named after the Nobel-prize winning playwright, who is buried at Forest Hills Cemetery. The pub can be reached at 617-553-2492.
