JACKSON SQ.—A man was shot in the leg in a burst of gunfire that also hit six vehicles in the Bromley-Heath housing development on the night of Oct. 11, according to a Boston Police Department (BPD) report.
Police officers patrolling Parker Street around 8 p.m. saw the unidentified victim, aged 18 or 19, running from the scene and found him lying wounded on the ground near 166 Terrace St. in nearby Mission Hill.
A gun and other ballistics evidence were recovered in the area, but no one has been charged in the shooting, according to BPD.
The three BPD officers and a Boston Housing Authority Police officer heard several gunshots in the area of 934 Parker St. and stopped an unidentified young man they saw running down Parker. At that time, they heard more gunshots and spotted the victim running across the Heath Street rotary into Mission Hill.
Officers chased the victim and found him suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh. He was transported to a hospital. Inside Bromley-Heath, officers found six vehicles damaged by gunshots.
Bromley-Heath, a large public housing development between Heath and Centre streets, saw a wave of reportedly drug-related shootings earlier this year that left six people wounded. The shootings stopped after a police crackdown and security upgrades.
