Casey Overpass safety report is available

The Gazette reported last month about the state Department of Transportation’s (MassDOT) Jan. 16 safety inspection of the Casey Overpass in Forest Hills. (See jamaicaplaingazette.com/2012/10/26/safety-report-casey-often-drops-debris.) The safety report found, among other things, that debris regularly falls off the bridge into safety netting, and that some of its support structures are in such poor condition that they are receiving extra inspections. The Gazette obtained the MassDOT report in a hard copy following a Freedom of Information Act request.

Since then, the Gazette has received reader requests to view the full MassDOT report. That report is now available by clicking the following link after MassDOT provided a digital copy at the Gazette’s request.
