John P. Craven of Jamaica Plain died on Jan. 1, 2013. Beloved son of the late William F. and Anne M. (Smythe) Craven. Dear brother of Mary T. Kirrane of Jamaica Plain; Patricia A. Watson and her husband Lawrence of Needham; and the late William F. Craven Jr. Dear uncle of Kevin M. Kirrane and his wife Marsha of Sandwich; Deborah A. Dailey and her husband Stephen of North Attleboro; Ann M. Collins and her husband Frank of Quincy; Dennis J. Kirrane and his wife Maryellen of West Roxbury; Laurie Larsen and her husband Erik of Norwood; Carolyn Ricciardi and her husband Joseph of Westford; Susan Watson of Washington, D.C.; and Patricia Watson of Needham. Also survived by many great-nieces and -nephews, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. U.S. Army World War II veteran. Retired teacher and guidance counselor in the Boston school system. Funeral was from the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home, Jamaica Plain on Jan. 7 and was followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery.
