Real estate today: ‘Serenity’ still under BRA review

The Serenity, a proposed luxury apartment building at 105A S. Huntington Ave., is still under review by the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) until the completion of the S. Huntington Ave. corridor study.

“[The BRA is] anticipating additional information on the project from the developer following the completion of the study,” BRA spokesperson Melina Schuler told the Gazette last week.

The 195 luxury rental units in the multi-building development would include townhouses and apartment buildings of one-, two- and three-bedroom units targeted at graduate students and families. The project would also include 26 affordable units, 1,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 176 parking spaces in an underground garage.

The BRA is conducting its “corridor study” in response to community demands following rapid, large-scale redevelopment on the street, including high-end apartment buildings at 105A and 161 S. Huntington Ave. and the undetermined future of the former Goddard House at 201 S. Huntington. The final draft of the study results is expected to be presented to the community April 2.

The project is not currently scheduled for a BRA vote. The BRA’s website for the study can be seen at bit.ly/SHuntCorridorPlan.
