HYDE SQ.—A man was shot to death last night at 104 Minden St., and Boston Police officers will discuss the incident at tonight’s “Town Hall” meeting held by City Councilor Matt O’Malley.
The killing is Jamaica Plain’s first reported homicide this year. The Boston Police Department did not immediately respond to Gazette requests for details about the case.
O’Malley said his neighbors have been asking for more information about the killing and he knew it would dominate the conversation at his annual town hall forum. He said he spoke with Capt. Paul Russell, commander of JP’s District E-13 Police Station, and asked for a police presentation and question-and-answer session to begin the meeting.
Asked what information Russell shared about the killing, O’Malley said, “Not a lot, to be honest.” But, he noted, residents at the meeting will be able to hear whatever information is available.
O’Malley will hold the town hall forum tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Connolly Branch Library at 433 Centre St. in Hyde Square.
