FBI releases close-up photos of bomb suspects

The FBI early this morning released new photos of the Boston Marathon bomb suspects showing their faces closely.

The photos were released as chaotic gunfire and possible explosions erupted in Cambridge and Watertown, including the killing of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer. Unconfirmed TV news and Boston Globe reports claim or speculate that the violence involves suspects in the marathon attack.

The FBI released more photos of the suspects as the enormous police shootout and search in Watertown unfolded. It is unclear whether the photo release and the Watertown incident are related.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects in the photos or has other information about the case can contact the FBI at 1-800-225-5324 or at bostonmarathontips.fbi.gov.
