ABCD might go to ‘The Cave’

JACKSON SQ.—Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD), an antipoverty nonprofit, might soon be providing services at the youth center “The Cave” at the Bromley-Heath housing development, according to Boston Housing Authority (BHA) spokesperson Lydia Agro.

Agro said Big Brother Big Sister Association and the Girl Scouts currently use the space at “The Cave,” but that ABCD has inquired about also providing some services there as well.

“Therefore, we are currently meeting internally and with our various partners to discuss which programs and activities can share that space as well as other space, such as the Anna Mae Cole Community Center, at Bromley-Heath,” said Agro.

Local state Rep. Jeffrey Sánchez said that if ABCD does go to “The Cave,” it will be “not just a drop-in center, but a place people go to better themselves.”

ABCD did not respond to a request for comment.
