State Sen. Sonia Chang-Díaz gave birth to a baby girl, Mila, on June 29, according to her official Facebook page.
The page stated on July 1, “Mom and Mila are both doing great.” No further information was provided.
It is unclear how long Chang-Díaz, a JP resident, will be on leave. She told the Gazette last week that she has a “rigorous plan in place to ensure that constituents do not go without representation on Senate votes for more than a few days,” without providing details despite multiple Gazette requests.
She also said that the Gazettes requests constituted a sexist “double standard” for women officials.
